Sentosa Island is a resort island connected to downtown Singapore by a bridge (for pedestrians and cars), a cable car, and a tram. This is where the Universal Studios park is, and where we spent our first day in Singapore, but it also has huge hotels, tons of restaurants, a casino, a water park, beaches and the Singapore Aquarium. We spent one day on Sentosa enjoying the aquarium and then walking down the long beach boardwalk and taking in the sights. The aquarium was impressive, with huge tanks (some of the largest in the world) that were arranged by geographic region. The experience was very controlled, with a one-way route through the exhibits and no real opportunity to go back to anything. It was definitely set up for extremely high volume of visitors, but it seemed just a bit too slick and hands-off after having recently visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium with Ryan. We had fun though, and it was very cool inside!
Another attraction on Sentosa Island is a slide luge. We took a ski lift to the top of a hill, which was worth it just for the views of the island.
And from the top we took these cool luge cars down a winding track.
