We had two great experiences at the Singapore Zoo. The zoo is separated into sections, with one section devoted only to nocturnal animals. This "Night Safari" opens every night around 7:00 and is laid out in four trails. There is a tram you can take through the main areas, and beautiful paths that let you get close to the animals. Our favorites were the mice deer (super cute!), and the fishing cat who we watched try to catch his dinner in a stream for a good 15 minutes. (He wasn't exceptionally skilled!)
We didn't get any good pictures at the night zoo but we did have a fabulous time. The next day we went to the main zoo, which was a much more typical zoo experience.
This wasn't something we expected to do at the zoo, but it was quite an experience. The kids were strapped into harnesses and had a bungee/pulley system that allowed them to jump really high. It made me a little nervous, especially when Ryan accidentally did a full flip (yikes!) but they both had a great time.
The zoo had actual animals too, and in fact there were quite a few habitats where visitors could roam free with the animals. This was the Lemur habitat, which was really fun.

And a lone duck in the lemur habitat that Ryan enjoyed following around for a bit.
