In Barbados "J4" is the end of primary school so kids leaving this grade graduate to the secondary school they qualify for based on the 11 + exam. Most of Conor's classmates will be heading off to different schools next year scattered all over the island, so graduation from primary school is a pretty big deal. We owe these pictures to the kindness of Mr. Hook, the school vice principal, who took pity on us and made an extra effort to get nice pictures of Conor after we told him that we couldn't find our camera in the confusion of our move. On the day of Conor's graduation all of our stuff was either boxed up or thrown into one of our "don't pack" rooms, and those rooms were total chaos! Oh the joy of an international move, but at least we got to take the day off from our pack out to take part in this celebration. It was a welcome break and we are so proud of Conor!
Conor and his class performed a few songs.
Conor won the award for "Best in Mathematics."
The class presented a gift to their teacher, Mrs. Fisher.
All of the kids wrote a letter to themselves to put in a time capsule which will be opened in 10 years. Conor's letter started something like:
Dear Future Me,
Are you still a nerd? I hope so because that means you are smart. Do you still play Mine Craft? Probably not, I am sure there is something new and better by now. I wonder what it is. Are you a programmer? I think that would be cool"...
You get the idea, totally Conor!
