Greg was very helpful, he made sure they didn't pack out our bedding until the last day...
On the first day they came in with a team of 12 packers, and three supervisors and it was amazing how quickly they were able to box everything up.
This is the playroom by mid afternoon, not much to play with anymore!
And our living room with only the TV still left to pack up.
These four boxes are all that we will have with us for the next year... does that look like 700 lbs to you? Everything else will be in storage waiting for our eventual move to India. It is strange watching things get boxed up that you won't see for more than a year. Strange and a little disconcerting.
The kitchen...
The hall way and the office getting the same treatment. By the end of the day Tuesday nearly everything was boxed or wrapped up, carefully inventoried and ready to be put into crates. Our house looked so white!
The boys made their own fun while everything was being boxed up around them. As you can tell they also helped their dad with his important task.
Greg took the labeling a bit seriously... or maybe not.
After taking Wednesday and Thursday off for Conor's graduation and Ryan's awards ceremony the movers were back again early Friday morning ready to put everything we own into these crates and take it all away. Before anything went into the crates it was carefully weighed by one of the supervisors and the weight was added to the inventory sheet. In the end we were about 800 lbs under our weight allowance (surprise, surprise!) so we will be able to ship a little bit from Washington DC when it gets closer to our actual move date. I am planning on lots of Trader Joe's items! Ryan was curious and interested in the whole process... he watched intently as they did the final packing into the crates.
