Grocery shopping vol. 2 Cinco de mayo edition

This posting I don't have any pictures for, but I thought I would share what it cost to have a Mexican dinner for the family on Cinco de Mayo. All of the shopping was done at City Shop, a local expat grocery store.

I usually make my own tortillas but didn't have time on the 5th. Making my own is certainly cheaper, but not exactly cheap when 1 lb of Gold Medal all purpose flour is $11.43. It is also much better to make my own because the alternative is the long-life packaging stuff that doesn't actually taste all that great. All well, we do what we must...

10 Tortillas (Old El Paso brand)$4.69
10 Crispy taco shells (Ortega brand) $8.50
Ground Australian Beef $10.86 for about 1 lb.
Land of Lakes Mild Cheddar Cheese $5.57
Santa Cruiz Organic Raspberry Lemonade $1.88 each
Tostitos tortilla chips (normal size bag) $8.50
Salsa (small glass jar) $5.13
Avocados for guacamole $4.40 for 2

We had a wonderful feast though, so I guess the punchline should be:

"Celebrating Cinco De Mayo with your family in China... priceless"
