Vienna is such a charming city, and one of the things that I have really enjoyed discovering are the different signs around town. It's not that they are so very different from signs in the states, but there's just something slightly more whimsical about Vienna signs that I love.
Vienna has crossing lights at intersections, but since 2015 most of the inner city (first district) pedestrian crossings show a mixture of gay, lesbian and straight couples.
The ones with two men and two women have a heart above their heads.
The ones with a man and a woman have butterflies on them-- so cute!
The lights were originally installed prior to some high profile events that were happening in Vienna, and were intended to be temporary. They were so popular though, they not only kept the original lights but have added more over the years.
This is the sign you find near parks that indicates children are present. I just like the girl in her flirty skirt and the boy in his coat and slacks-- seems sort of formal for the park.
And this man in a top hat crossing the street, and looking very dapper!
