We had another perfect morning at camp before getting back on the river. This campsite had a nice beach we could walk up and down, and a few of us even got a short run in!
Our one stop was at "pumpkin springs" which got its name because, well take a look:
We pulled over here so people could jump off of the cliff just to the left of the springs where the river is relatively calm and there was an easy place to climb back out.
Our camp for the last night had a view of Diamond Peak, not a bad last camp for sure!
222 Mile Campground (across from Diamond Peak) at, you guessed it, mile 222! This was our longest day on the river by far, and we traveled 53.5 miles.
Day 8 August 11
See anything different here in the morning pictures? That's right, the only night we needed our tents was our last night on the river. It was still plenty warm, but a storm rolled in just as we were heading to sleep and we all had to scramble to get our tents set up to keep our sleeping bags and gear dry.
At Separation Canyon we switched over to a jetboat to cover the rest of the trip down to where we left the river just before Lake Mead.

Last day on the river!
Our last family pictures before we left the Canyon:
Saying goodbye to the Grand Canyon!
Back on dry land! Our bus ride back to Las Vegas was fairly uneventful.
But we did stop at a roadside market where John treated us all to ice creams, and we couldn't pass up this photo op.
