The Perfect Storm!

 Snow, Snow, Snow, Snow, SNOW!!!

We got our first real snowstorm this week and it was absolutely perfect!  On Sunday we had just enough snow to cover the ground and have a bit of fun slipping and sliding around down some hills.  Not enough for snowmen or really good snowball fights, but enough to have a bit of fun.  Sunday night the freezing rain came in and turned all of the trees into crystal sculptures, it was so incredibly beautiful! And because all that beauty comes with some danger, the kids had their first experience with a snowday! Then the real magic happened Tuesday morning, when the ground was perfectly prepared for snow to "stick." Around 5 am it started snowing really steadily. Never too hard, but just very steady, and we watched out our window as things were slowly covered over in white. We went out a few times in the morning to walk in the quiet snowfall and catch snowflakes on our tongues.  Around 1 pm the snow stopped, the clouds parted, and we had a sunny and really rather warm day... perfect to get out and play, play play!

I don't think I like where this is going...

Yup, that's where I thought it was going!

He wouldn't really throw that at his mother would he???                                                YES!!!

After lots of snow ball fighting the boys got together and made this funny little snowman.  He's not much to look at, but then we knew he wouldn't last long in this neighborhood!

We also took time to enjoy some nice hot cocoa, and we even made two batches of snow ice cream!  What a day!
