Ryan is 4!

Ryan turned 4 on June 18th and he had is first ever "real" birthday party.  We hosted the party at a local art school that has a play park in the back, and the kids had a blast.  They got to run around and play in the park, and they also got to go inside to cool off and make tee shirts to take home. Add to that snacks and cake and we had some very happy kids!  One friend of his said when she was leaving that it was the "very best birthday party I have ever been to in my whole life!"  I considered that mission accomplished!

These first pictures are actually from a few weeks before Ryan's birthday when we went to the play park to check it out...

Greg doing a "quality control" check.  It passed.
And on the Big Day!

Happy Boy!

And Niamh joins in the fun!

After running around for a while the kids went inside to cool off and paint some tee-shirts to take home.

Working hard on their creations!

And they had snacks on the patio.

Ryan with his cake.  The lighting of the candles without matches was quite an experience involving
lighting a newspaper on fire with the exposed heating unit in a toaster oven...
And Ryan with his big boy bike, a present he had been asking for almost every day for the past 6 months!
(Mom note: it also came with a new helmet!)
