These pictures are from so long ago I almost didn't put them on the blog, but they are cute, and there is a nice story about them so what the heck.  About 2 months before we left Shanghai we were asked if we would consider having Ryan model clothes for catalogs.  We looked into the photography studio (it was legitimate!) and found out that they were one of the major photographers for catalogs of children's clothing coming out of Shanghai.  I thought it would be an interesting experience, so went with Ryan for a shoot.  As with most things in China it was Crazy with a capital C!  In one studio there were two different shoots happening at the same time, and each one had three kids being cycled through with photos, break, outfit change, repeat about every 10 minutes or so.  It took Ryan a little time to adjust to the chaos, but when it was his turn for photos he was great.  We know that some pictures were used because we were paid, but because we left Shanghai soon after the shoot we never got a copy of the catalog.  For months after we left I continued to get e-mails from the photographer asking Ryan to come back in.  I told them we were leaving Shanghai, but what was lost in translation was that we weren't coming back!  When they finally figured that out they arranged it so a friend of ours could pick up a CD with these pictures, and that explains about 6 months of the delay in my posting them.  The other year or so of delay really has no excuse!

What I don't know is whether or not this means Ryan can claim he was a professional model for Disney... I think he can!
