experiments

Conor spent the morning pouring through science experiment books picking out a few activities. First he decided to build a "lemon battery" with limes from the back yard.
He squished the limes to release some juices... and Ryan did his best to help.

One of the best things about this experiment is how good it smells... and Ryan providing musical accompaniment!
Conor used Copper wire and a paper clip to get a charge from the lime.
Mr. Scientist, and the results on the voltmeter.

Activity #2
Setting up the second set of experiments with ice, sun and Conor's new magnifying glass he got for his birthday.

Ryan most enjoyed making hand prints with the water...
he insisted I include this close up of his print!
Conor watching the ice under the magnifying glass melt faster than the "control". He then brought Ryan in as an assistant and showed him how to provide shade for one of the pieces of ice.

Two happy boys!
