Martin's Bay

On Saturday the boys and I took a trip out to Martin's Bay on the east coast of Barbados. This is one of the best beaches for finding seaglass, and it is a fun beach to go to when we aren't feeling like swimming. The sand is very rocky, as you can tell from the pictures, and this is a beach where we always wear our sandals! Poking around we find seaglass, interesting pieces of tumbled pottery, pieces of shells (and very rarely a full shell), lots of sea sponges and other plants, and tons of sand crabs running around and digging holes. We always bring a bag to put our treasures in, and Conor and Ryan really get into finding things to bring home.

These pictures show a little bit more of the bay, which is a beautiful place to spend time with the boys. Just after I took these pictures though, the rain came in and it was time to head home.

When we got home (after baths!) we cleaned up and sorted what we found.

A picture of our treasures!
