Camping with Ryan

The first week of December Ryan's cub scouts den took its first camping trip of the year. Greg was going to go with the group, but at the last minute there was an emergency in Chennai he needed to help with, so I stepped in to take him.  The kids had a wonderful time, and the camp was really nicely set up, so everything was super easy.  Here is Ryan with his group learning a few new knots. I don't know if he has been practicing with Conor or something, but Ryan picked up on all of the knots really quickly and was able to help his friends figure them out too.

This was our tent, with a nice porch out front where we could enjoy the great weather.  We weren't far enough out of Delhi to get away from the bad air, but at least we felt like we were away, and the weather was cool and crisp but never uncomfortably cold.  The tents were nice and comfortable, and we even had our own restroom!

The group took a nice hike up and around a rocky hill behind the campsite.  Some of the older boys also did a bit of rock climbing, but Ryan's group wasn't old enough for that.

Ryan and his friend Jean, taking a little break.
