Independence Day Parade

Happy Independence Day Barbados!  Today at Providence the school celebrated Barbados' birthday, and the kids all took part in a parade.  For the past few weeks the classes have been working on their costumes, and today they had a chance to show them off in front of parents and friends.
Ryan and his friends relaxed in their class before the parade.  His class all dressed as flowers, butterflies, humming birds and lady bugs (Ryan was super excited he got to be a lady bug because they are red!) and the teachers all represented the elements that nurture flowers and bugs, the sun and rain.

Who thought it was a good idea to give them all things to wave in front of their faces?

Relaxing after the parade with his class.

Conor's class represented tourism, the largest industry in Barbados.  They were supposed to act like tourists and people working in the tourism industry, and they definitely looked like they were having fun!

After the parade the kids went back to their classrooms to have lunch.  This is Ryan's classroom patio where he has lunch every day. (Can you see him sitting there?)
