Shanghai Sculpture Space

The day after school was out for Conor a friend and I took our kids to the Shanghai Sculpture Space to check it out. Tucked away behind a huge shopping area in Shanghai, SSS offers an interesting contrast to the surrounding area. It consists of a large grassy outdoor area with oversized sculptures such as giant legs painted like the flags of different countries, a huge laptop computer made of rocks which you can climb on, and a Mercedes made of bricks, alongside a converted factory warehouse with displays of a wide array of sculptures made of everything from resin and plastic to iron and bronze. The collection was scattered and random, but also interesting and enjoyable. Even though it was a stiflingly hot day, the warehouse was cool and the grassy area offered a nice place for the kids to run free for a little while. Here are two short videos of Conor and his friends, the first with a large "Buddah thinker" and the second with the afore mentioned legs...
