Last night was crazy! Fireworks started in earnest sometime around 6:00 (after dark) and just continued to escalate all night. I took the first video around 7:30 on our back patio. Amazingly, Conor and Ryan had no problems sleeping! Conor stayed up late and he and Greg went for a walk around the neighborhood to watch the fireworks for a while, but it was really, really cold. The sound is something like what I imagine a war zone would be like, with huge bangs and pops coming from all directions. We have heard that it is even more crazy downtown where the population is more dense than it is out here in the 'burbs. It seems like it is a national competition to see who can set off more and bigger explosions.
The second video was taken around midnight from a window in our house. Literally in every direction you could see fireworks, and at times the sound was deafening.
